The Scrum Master will direct the daily activities of multiple delivery teams that support, enhance, and develop enterprise systems for a federal government customer. Their daily responsibilities include the following:
- Organizes and facilitates project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
- Tracks and communicates team velocity and sprint/release progress.
- Maintain process documentation.
- Ensures that the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
- Assists as needed with backlog maintenance.
- Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Assists with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs.
- Assists the team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
- Participates proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.
- Identifies and removes impediments and prevents distractions.
- Facilitates discussion and conflict resolution.
- Empowers the team to self-organize.
- Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
