Functional Tester (Automation)

Position Description

​The Functional Tester helps transform testing into a continuous and efficient end-to-end quality engineering function through quality processes, tools, and methodologies significantly improving control, accuracy and integrity. They evolve more predictive and intelligent testing approaches based on automation and innovative testing products and solutions. The functional tester will test various enterprise software applications as part of an agency-wide testing lab. Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Support tool research, analysis and selection
  • Define test cases and test scripts
  • Perform functional testing based on user requirements
  • Implement end-to-end automation
  • Support DevOps implementations
  • Support automation assessments
  • Develops and Implement automated framework using standard coding methodologies
  • Defines standards, methods and test management strategy for test automation
  • Using HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) develop automated test cases and perform complex test execution. Document and report defects discovered during the test execution
  • Coordinate with the development teams for defect resolution and escalation
  • Ensures that test plans and test scenarios fully exercise every aspect of the product
  • Collaborates with Dev team members to understand the scope of test cases that will be used for automated scripts

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Functional Testing of enterprise IT applications
  • Hands-on experience in Test Automation including planning, script development & maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience with HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT)
  • Experienced testing in an Agile development environment
  • Demonstrated experience with HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
  • Demonstrated experience in VBScript
  • Demonstrated experience with Continuous Integration

Desirable Skills

  • Active Public Trust Clearance
  • Java / J2EE, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, Ruby, , C#, VB.NET
  • Selenium WebDriver experience
