Senior Data Engineer

Position Description

The Senior Data Engineer will be part of an enterprise team working to plan, develop, extend, integrate, and report on data models in a massive modernization effort that will pull dozens of disparate systems into a new cohesive whole. This individual will be a key part of the modernization effort; ensuring that data structures are thoughtfully planned and executed to optimize user experience design as well as reporting and analytics accessibility. As the project progresses, they will spearhead multiple data migration efforts using best-in-class cloud tooling to gradually build a truly transformative application for our client.

Required Skills

  • At least 6 years of IT experience in data analyst, data engineering, or data modeling roles
  • Ability to work closely with both technical and business leads to understand and document requirements and constraints.
  • Ability to implement ETL pipelines in Azure with Data Factory and Data Flows (for Power Platform).
  • Experience working with on premises to Cloud data migrations including:
    • Traditional ETL tooling such as SSIS or Scribe
    • Accessing on-prem data from Azure (through Data Gateways)
    • Familiarity with Azure Serverless Compute and transactional data flows
    • Extensive experience with transactional query languages, especially T-SQL
    • Familiarity with common web transactional structures including Rest/SOAP APIs, JSON, OData
    • Familiarity with handling sensitive customer data, including PII

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with ADLS (Gen 2)
  • Understanding of analytical data structures
  • Expertise in scalable, high-concurrency system design and development
  • Relevant Azure Certifications (e.g. DP-200, 201)
  • Experience with Power Platform application design and application API
  • Public Trust Clearance
