Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer / Architect

Position Description

The Senior Microsoft 365 (M365) Engineer / Architect will work in the Cloud Enablement team to implement enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid infrastructure and application solutions for a federal agency.  They will work with technical leads and architects to provide input and hands-on management in the areas configuring, supporting, and driving adoption of M365 services. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Enable, administer, and monitor Microsoft 365 products and services including Office 365, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Support the migration efforts including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
  • Implement and manage Office 365 licenses, usage, and governance
  • Implement and manage Office 365 tenant security, incident investigation, and overall tenant threat protection
  • Implement and monitor Data Gateway for integration of Microsoft 365 services and on-prem workloads
  • Implement the development of applications and solutions that are optimized for the productivity and collaboration using the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Support implementation of enterprise-scale solutions, hybrid or otherwise, using key 365 components including Power Platform, SharePoint, and cloud application development solutions (e.g., PaaS, Serverless, API Management)
  • Implement solutions on Microsoft Teams, Office Add-ins, or SharePoint Framework through all phases of software development
  • Support the planning and implementation of information protection solutions, sensitivity labels and policies, and DLP policies

Required Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft-based architecture and solution implementation
  • At least 3 years of experience with enablement and development of Office 365 / Microsoft 365 based services and solutions
  • Knowledge of DevOps operations and frameworks including CI/CD tool chains, configuration management, security and separation of duties, and quality assurance
  • Experience with Microsoft Cloud based development, including Power Apps, SharePoint Online, and Azure PaaS
  • Experience implementing the migration to O365 / M365 for large enterprises

Desirable Skills

  • Experience supporting federal government customers
  • Active federal government public trust clearance
  • Any of the following Microsoft certifications:
    • Exchange certification
    • Any 365 certification
    • Exam AZ-303: Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies
    • Exam AZ-304: Microsoft Azure Architect Design
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • MCSE: Productivity Solutions Expert
