Senior SharePoint Farm Administrator

Position Description

The Senior Farm Administrator oversees the platform operations team for an enterprise wide Microsoft environment, including SharePoint, SQL Server, and Power BI. They will oversee the migration of the current on-premises environment to the Cloud and the adoption of the broader Microsoft Cloud Power Platform. In the current environment, they will provide hands on administration for the installation, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance of over 100 servers and software related to SharePoint infrastructure, which is currently migrating to SharePoint 2019. They serve as the lead administrator for a team of 4-5 resources and is a primary point of contact with customer management. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Oversee maintenance and administration of Microsoft SharePoint Servers, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis
  • Manage the functionality of features such as Search, view the Audit Log Reports, work with site collection policies, manage the site collection caching, and activate or deactivate Site Collection features
  • Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of new Microsoft based initiatives
  • Oversee and perform typical system administrative activities such backup, restore and issue resolution
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices, and procedures for SharePoint solutions
  • Guide the customer and team in the migration from an on-premises infrastructure to the Cloud (O365/SharePoint Online/Azure) and adoption of Power Platform offerings

Required Skills

  • At least 7 years of experience working on SharePoint and related Microsoft platforms in architecture and platform operations roles
  • Experience in a lead operations role supporting large SharePoint infrastructure (e.g., 100+ servers, 5+ SP farms, 4,000+ users)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based development environment

Desirable Skills

  • Microsoft certifications
  • Experience migration from SharePoint on-premises to SharePoint Online environments
  • Active federal government public trust clearance
