Microsoft Platform Technical Lead

Position Description

​This senior Microsoft technologist will provide technical leadership, guidance, and hands-on support for maintaining, enhancing, and driving innovation for large scale enterprise SharePoint and Dynamics 365 platforms residing in hybrid cloud infrastructure, including on-premises, Azure IaaS, and Office 365 SaaS offerings. The technical lead will oversee technical operations of two platform teams (SharePoint and Dynamics) in a shared service environment for a major federal government Department. They will support the Project Manager and provide hands-on support and technical guidance to the teams, including providing guidance and support to development teams. Duties include:

  • Working independently and balancing multiple and competing priorities and projects
  • Leveraging and advancing DevSecOps best practices to design, implement, and deploy solutions
  • Drive Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices in order to engage with team, leadership and government clientele on project development
  • Integrate multiple software products across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Effectively work with team members including partners, customers, and leaders to proactively identify and mitigate / resolve risks and issues
  • Analyze customer business requirements and design technical solutions to meet business goals and objectives including functional / non-functional requirements in alignment with architectural standards

Required Skills

  • At least 10 years of IT experience focused on Microsoft technologies
  • At least 5 years of SharePoint experience, including performing the following:
    • Plan, design, test, and implement SharePoint backups, business continuity, and disaster recovery
    • Troubleshoot functional and technical incidents occurring within SharePoint
    • Perform corrective SharePoint administration, configuration and maintenance
    • Provide Tier 3 support for SharePoint helpdesk to address user requests and issues
    • Provide technical mentoring and support to SharePoint developers and administrators
    • Provide guidance to business units and SharePoint team on site structure and navigation
    • Assists with site collection administration for business user departments
  • Experience on multiple Dynamics 365 / CRM projects, including the following:
    • Functional/Technical skills including knowledge / mastery of Dynamics and the Power platform technologies, including PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, Common Data Service, Azure SQL, Azure Services (Key Vault, Web Applications, Service Bus, Virtual Machines, Application Insights)
    • Dynamics Development experience - Configuration, Plug-in, Workflows, JavaScript, C#, HTML
    • Experience in .NET areas/ Web Applications, REST API
    • Experience with SSIS and related data migration techniques and strategies
    • Experience with DevOps - Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Unit/UI Testing

Desirable Skills

  • Background in Enterprise Networking, including authentication methods/tools, load balancing, security, etc.
  • Background in SQL Server database architecture
  • Knowledge of Azure architecture and Azure services
  • Knowledge of Windows administration and Active Directory
  • Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics certifications
  • Active Federal Government Public Trust clearance
