Agile Coach

Position Description

​The Agile Coach will work to provide process guidance and mentorship to Scrum and Kanban teams, work to establish standards across teams, and help to drive continuous improvement efforts for process efficiency and overall Agile maturity. Responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring / Coaching Scrum Masters and teams to adopt Agile thinking and practices
  • Document process standards and practices
  • Lead an Agile Community of Interest to nurture the Agile culture
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders to align to Agile practices
  • Assess and Measure Agile Maturity for teams and identify a roadmap for growth
  • Provide hands-on backup support for Scrum Masters, as necessary
  • Lead analysis for innovative solutions to challenges facing Agile teams
  • Drive continuous process improvements and process efficiency

Required Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience providing Agile Coaching to IT system development teams
  • At least 8 years of experiencing leading Scrum teams
  • Demonstrated experiencing adapting Agile practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience using Agile management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rational Jazz
  • Demonstrated understanding of common Agile metrics such as Lead Time, Cycle Time, Velocity
  • Thorough understanding of Agile principles
  • Strong experience with Scrum framework and general experience with other Agile methodologies
  • Active Scrum Master certification

Desirable Skills

  • Federal Government Consulting experience
  • Certified Scrum Professional, Scaled Agile certifications, PMI-ACP certification
  • Federal Government Public Trust clearance
