Production Support Specialist

Washington, DC

Position Description

The production support specialist with record, track, resolve, and report on production incidents and user issues.Specific job responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform analysis on incoming incidents, triage issues, and ensure assignment to proper resources.
  • Develop reports on helpdesk activities to support tracking against SLAs.
  • Perform tier-2 helpdesk duties, including analysis and resolutions for technical and use issues.
  • Perform root causes analysis and maintain updates within the ticketing system (ServiceNow).
  • Documents helpdesk processes and procedures.

Required Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience working on IT systems development projects in a helpdesk / support capacity.
  • Experience using helpdesk ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow.
  • Solid understanding of IT systems development processes and methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of software development, ideally in a Microsoft environment (.NET, SharePoint, SQL Server).

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of and experience with SharePoint 2007 and/or 2010
  • Knowledge of and experience with .NET development
  • Knowledge of and experience with SQL Server development
